Dublin, Texas
I have always heard of Dublin Dr. Pepper, but honestly besides that I did not really know a ton about the small town of Dublin, Texas. I consider this a town to pass through, visiting these little gems on your roadtrip. Of course, this travel guide by no means covers everything to do in Dublin, Texas just my favorite discoveries.
- Veldhuizen Cheese | Cheese, Cheese, CHEESE: Umm if you know me then you know I am an absolute cheese FANATIC. Melted cheese, sliced cheese, cheese crackers, giveeee me allll of it! This little cheese shop is located on a local farm where they are COMPLETELY self sufficient. We honestly thought we were on the wrong road until we saw the sign. We got a tasting where we tasted 8+ cheeses and it was so fun and the cheese was so unique. Our Favorites : Redneck Cheddar Times: M-F 10-5:30, Saturday 10-4
- Lucky Vines Vineyard | Winery : Right off the highway is this precious little vineyard, you have to take a backroad because you cannot enter off the highway. Some of their buildings are made out of shipping containers and their tasting room was so inviting. Con has already decided he wants the exact set up as his man cave. We had the sweetest and kindest woman that helped us and I kick myself that I did not get her name. She found out we were visiting and recommended all sorts of things to do, she was wonderful. We loved this little spot and it was a nice surprise right off of the highway. Our Favorites: Viognier, Times: Th 4-7, F 1-8, Sat 12-8, Sun 1-6
- Chicken House Flea Market | Treasure Hunting : This was a massive thrift store with miles of vendors. There were so many different little booths with clothes, furniture, and knick knacks. We didn’t have service at the time so I bought a couple movies for a dollar each and a cute t-shirt. When| 2nd & 4th weekend of every month, Sat & Sun 8-5
- Dublin Bottling Works | Soda Shop & Tour: Dr.Pepper separated from Dublin Dr.Pepper years ago so now the name is simply Dublin Bottling Works. There is a cute little soda shop that you can get a Dublin soda as well as lunch. I grabbed a cream soda and root beer and they were both delicious. They offer tours as well but we didn’t get a chance to go on one. Times: Th-S 10-5, Sun 1-5
Here is to unravelling this life we live on adventure at a thyme.
